Job description

The Commercial Director for the Americas, reporting to the VP Commercial Operations, is primarily responsible for the top line revenue in Americas. The person is a leader and people manager and will be responsible for the culture and vibrancy of the regional Teams including Sales and Field Application Scientists. Additional responsibilities are in budgeting, Forecast, Legal agreements, quality and regulatory.

Location: North America, near major airport, with up to 60% travel as required.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Elaborate the strategy for the American market in adequation with the company’s global vision
  • Provide leadership to the Americas Sales and FAS Team
  • People management of Salespersons and FAS
    • Staffing, training, goal setting, performance reviews
  • Budget setting and management of the Commercial Operations America
  • Budget setting and plan for marketing activities in the Americas aligned with the global marketing strategy
  • Develop and own policies for the American Operations in the Omixon Handbook (Travel,

maternity/paternity leave, sick leave, holiday pay etc.)

  • Agreements
    • Early Access Program Agreements or similar
  • Expert in all implemented Commercial Procedures and Systems
    • Software Systems: Salesforce, JIRA, Confluence, Gmail
    • Maintains commercial procedures and responsible for training team members about the changes
  • Act as the primary ‘Customer’ for Commercial processes implemented by the IT Department
    • Create and specify new systems and processes (e.g. in Salesforce)
    • Lead ‘User Acceptance Testing’
    • Primary trainer for team with latest systems and processes
  • Market expert on genomics, NGS, HLA, clinical sequencing applications and related software and laboratory technologies
  • Attend key HLA or NGS conferences in the region to represent Omixon
  • Additional duties as required

DESIRED PROFILE

  • MBA & MSc or similar advanced qualifications with relevant managerial and sales experience in Transplant Diagnostic or related discipline
  • People Manager (5+ years experience)
  • Process Manager (5+ years experience)
  • Sales Background in Molecular Biology (5+ years experience)
  • HLA experience
  • Experienced leader, self-motivated, works well under minimal supervision
  • Driven to continuous improvement
  • Experience managing distributors is considered advantageous
  • Confident strong communicator of the benefits of scientific and technical products
  • Ability to foster enthusiasm among direct and indirect reports in a rapidly evolving, high energy business environment

EXPECTATIONS

  • Team player with a sound understanding of individual and team goals
  • Successful conversion of HLA labs to NGS
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, MS Office products, Google-Docs
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders in Europe office
  • Weekly progress reporting to VP Commercial Operations
  • Tools of the trade, i.e. mobile phone with mobile data, home internet, computer etc.
  • Reviewed at least annually
